Meet Callan & the Team
The heart and soul behind CL Kitchens & Cabinetry is Callan Haywood. Callan has over a decade in the cabinetmaking industry: first in wood finishing, then for a number of years in high-end custom kitchens before moving into shopfitting.
His breadth of experience and love of true craftsmanship means that he brings his passion for handcrafted quality and attention to detail to every project he works on.
While modern in his designs and approach, Callan is old school in that half a millimetre really does matter.
He believes that handcrafting a kitchen or a cupboard means that care and passion is added into each piece. Rather than using a computer operated machine and walking away, he carefully tends to each piece of wood and every single item to ensure a perfect cut. Problems and issues are identified and resolved at the point of creation and not when being fitted on your wall. This intense attention to detail means you receive a superior quality finish in a similar way that a tailored suit always fits better than one off the rack.
This passion for quality spills over into his communication. You are involved every step of the way. Nothing is ever a surprise and you are never left wondering what is happening or when people are going to turn up.
Every design not only looks stunning, it is highly functional.
This attention to detail means that every one of his kitchens and cabinets “simply works.” You will never have to awkwardly reach around things or walk kilometres each meal trying to get around all of the kitchen essentials.
Callan believes that quality shouldn’t cost more and that everybody deserves great cabinetwork. That’s why many of our clients comment about how surprisingly affordable our work is!
Quality Through and Through
We only use HMR (high moisture resistant), super dense board manufactured in Australia to Australian standards, with quality that you can feel. This means safe levels of formaldehyde and other chemicals, with no nasty hidden surprises that can come from cheap melamine and boards manufactured from overseas.
